Biography

Dr. Shanil Batohi runs the gamut of experience in the business and technology environment and has consistently been involved in innovation-driven projects. From an initial start as an electronic engineer, Shanil managed and then directed an industrial electronics company. He obtained an MBA from the Wits Business School with a dissertation titled “The Internet in Competitive Strategy” and quickly moved into a management consultancy. Here, he participated in business process optimisation projects and managed the IT Effectiveness solution line of the consulting organisation. He was headhunted to assist a major outsource vendor in formulating IT strategies for their clients as well as IT Governance and IT Risk Management. During that time, he completed his doctorial study (DBA) titled “Diversity and the Innovative Behaviour in SA Corporations”. Shanil has recently been involved in numerous business transformation and Enterprise / IT Architecture projects, and has a keen interest in the optimisation of businesses. His projects, technical, business, consulting and governance experience spans over 30 years. He is passionate about the people of South Africa and the environment.
