ISACA® South Africa Chapter

 

ISACA® South Africa is a chapter of ISACA®, which is an international professional association comprised of individuals interested in Information Systems assurance, governance, and security.

 

Together, ISACA® and its affiliated IT Governance Institute lead the information technology control community and serve its practitioners by providing the elements needed by IT professionals in an ever-changing worldwide environment.

 

A major ISACA®  strength is its chapter network. ISACA® has more than 170 chapters established in over 70 countries worldwide.

 

The South Africa Chapter covers all of South Africa, and meetings are held in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Pretoria.

 

Our mission: To promote the Assurance, Security and Governance of information systems locally.

 

The chapter's main objectives are: 

• To promote the education of, and help expand the knowledge and skills of its members in the interrelated fields of auditing, quality assurance, security, IS audit and control, and IT governance.
• To encourage an open exchange of IS audit and control, quality assurance, and security techniques, approaches, and problem solving by its members.
• To promote adequate communication to keep members abreast of current events in IS audit and control, quality assurance, and security fields that can be of benefit to them and their employers.
• To communicate to management, auditors, universities, and to IS professionals the importance of establishing controls necessary to ensure the effective organization and utilization of IT resources.
• To promote the Association’s professional certifications.
